sony bluray player question?

I believe I have the model bdp s300. I bought it off of the internet and it has been working fine for over a year. But know it is taking for ever to load or not loading at all. It just is saying that it is loading. I tried different blu ray movies and the movie is on but the loading box is right in the middle of the damn screen. so just wondering if anybody had this problem or not. also if it it junk then what is the best blu ray player I can by besides a ps3. thanks

Will BluRay be as revolutionary as the DVD was when it replaced the VHS?

I don’t know a whole lot about BluRay – In the (awesome) store where I get my DVDs, I’ve been told that so far the biggest difference from DVD to Blu Ray is the High Definition.

But the guy also told me the future is insecure – Maybe in 5 years movies will only come out in BluRay – Do you think so too?

But waaay back, DVD was so different than VHS changing everything from analog to digital – Would Blu Ray eventually bring the same changes or break through tecnology?

Bluray or Hd DVD player?

Which should i get? i am not a tech savy person, so please so long explanations. just give it to me in basic english. i want the one which will give me more selection movie wise and more popular too. i was thinking about getting the Hd DVD because the player is cheaper as well as the movies, but then i have to get the cables and the HDTV as well. then i was thinking about getting the PS3 since i can use it to play both games and Bluray discs. Oh yeah, for Bluray, you don’t have to get a special tv do you? also, can it also play regular DVD’s?

Is 1080p broadcast (bluray) on a 720p hdtv same as 720p broadcast (ABC) on 720p hdtv?

Am in market for bluray player, but only have 720p hdtv. Will bluray DVDs look the same than 720p tv broadcasts, since my tv is only 720p, or will it be better? Ex. will I see more detail in Lost series 3 in Bluray DVD compared to ABC’s HD broadcast of the same episodes?

DVD reigned over VHS. BLURAY reign over DVD?

the vhs era has ended back in 06 and taken over by the dvd era. now it is very common to see an advertisement for a newly released film on DVD and BLUray. So the question for all you DVD (and BLUray owners) do you think that BLUray will soon be the initial format for future (say 2011) home entertainment releases? do you think we will see the era in which standard dvd will be booted out and we all must purchase BLUray players?

Power DVD playing bluray and HD DVD?

I have a GGC-H20L Bluray/HDDVD drive. I am using the Power DVD program that came with it, to play both HD DVD and bluray (and DVD) but the player is only working for some disks.

On the ones it is not working on, you try and play the disk, the player loads, then there is a ping sound and the player closes.

I have managed to play a Region 1 DVD (sourced from a different DVD drive)
a German HD DVD (sourced from the HD DVD/Blu ray drive)

I have tried playing a Blu ray, and HD DVDs from the USA and the UK (even though they are the same region code, but I was just testing. These all did the ping noise and the program closed.

I have reinstalled the software a few times, then installed the Blu ray/HD DVD update a few times. This hasn’t helped

I have updated the driver for the player, this also hasn’t helped.

I have also cleaned the laser lens and the disks, this didn’t help either.

I am not sure what else to do

Can anyone help!?!?!

Why Do BluRay DVD’s have more SPECIAL FEATURES than regular DVD’s?

I HATE THAT!!!!
I can understand that BluRay will look more clearer than a DVD(but leave it like that), but why can’t the Special Features in movies be the same in both regular DVD and Bluray? I am a big fan of special features and I am upset they are doing this! I think they want money, they know when u have the regular DVD and the Bluray have a couple of added features, ppl would want to buy see the extra featurs
