    No its actual potential is 1080p, which is amazing picture quality

    1080P is the true potential of Blu Ray….. however, you can only get this resolution with Blu Ray movies….. ps3 games will give you 1080i. A TV that advertises 1080P is only going to produce that through Blu Ray movies, or true HD DVD’s. Cable or satalite signals will not produce more than 720P or 1080i …… hope this helps.

    i’ve done hours upon hours of research on this……………..you won’t notice any difference
